Blevins Group

Blevins Group is composed of seven family-owned companies working together to meet your needs. We cover a wide range of manufacturing abilities, from machining to laser marking, so we can be your one stop shop – saving you both time and money. Started in 1943, we supported the war effort by manufacturing firing pins for the 50-Caliber machine gun. Since then, we have produced machined parts for the military, medical and aerospace industries – to name just a few! Through these companies we can manufacture anything from prototypes to quantities in the hundreds of thousands. Our capabilities range from .040 to 10 inches in diameter in all types of materials including: stainless steel, aluminum, copper/brass, exotics, and plastics. Our centerless grinding and deep hole drilling capabilities combined with our machining abilities enable us to hold tight tolerances and provide all types of micro finishes.

Family History

The history of Blevins Group goes back to 1943 when Harold Aseltine and his son Howard Aseltine, started Extreme Precision Screw Products in the middle of a local junk yard. In 1951 they moved this first of now seven family owned businesses to 1838 Remell St. in Flint, Michigan, where they remain today. James Aseltine, another son of Harold’s, began Flint Centerless Grinding, Inc. a few years later in 1956. James was joined in the family business by his son Brian Aseltine who started Superior Gundrilling in 1986. In 1995, Tom and Janet Allen, daughter of James, took over operations of Flint Centerless Grinding and in 2008 Janet began the seventh of the family companies: JNet Services. JNet provides laser marking services with the latest in equipment Janet purchased in May 2009.

Blevins Screw Products, Inc. was started in 1957 by Wayne Blevins, who married Harold’s daughter Pat. They started with just a couple of machines in the corner of Extreme Precision Screw Products, and now have more than thirty machines in their facility on 1838 Remell St. Wayne and Pat’s sons Mark, Roger and Bruce all decided to join the family business. In 1976, Mark Blevins took over operations of Extreme Precision Screw Products after the death of Howard Aseltine and now runs the company with the help of his sons Steve and Jeff who make Blevins Group a fourth generation family business. In 1983, Roger Blevins acquired Borneman & Peterson, Inc. at 1810 Remell St. In 1985, Bruce Blevins took over operations of Blevins Screw Products, his son Ben has joined the company as the fourth generation. In 1989, when another local screw machine business was up for sale, Jerry Hobson, a nephew of Wayne and Pat’s, began Hobson Manufacturing Inc. in nearby Atlas, Michigan.

Today, all seven companies operate independently, but work together with state of the art equipment and the owners’ combined experience of over 300 years to produce quality products fitted to your needs.
